Who I am
Many clients come to see me at a point where their mind is constantly racing, stress has been building for too long, or their sense of direction in life has started to fade. From the outside, life may appear to be functioning well, yet on the inside it can feel as though one must constantly cope with just a little more than is truly sustainable.
I am a psychologist, brief therapist, and occupational health psychologist. My work combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and a warm, practical, and collaborative approach.
I do not believe that people need to be fixed. More often, what helps is learning to understand oneself with greater compassion and reconnecting with what truly matters. How do I want to spend the minutes of my life? What kind of person do I want to be, and with whom do I want to share this life?
I work particularly with stress, anxiety, emotional overload, self-criticism, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and work-related pressures. My practice also explores relationships, love, intimacy, consensual non-monogamy, separation, and other life transitions that can evoke powerful emotions and difficult questions.
Many of my clients are people who have been coping well for a long time. Sometimes they are the first to notice that a certain lifestyle, relationship, or way of relating to themselves no longer feels sustainable in the long run.
My work as an occupational health psychologist has taught me how easily people can lose touch with themselves while trying to be constantly efficient, strong, or responsive to the needs of others. To be honest, my own life has taught me something about this as well. Because of that, I approach these struggles with both compassion and respect for how easily even capable and successful people can find themselves living a life that looks good on the outside but feels heavy on the inside.
At the same time, I believe that small shifts in direction can gradually transform one’s experience of life. Much like a boat that changes its course by only a few degrees, yet eventually arrives at a completely different shore.
More about my approach
My therapeutic style is active, conversational, and human. At times, it may also include a touch of humour when the situation allows for it.
In our sessions, you are welcome to arrive exactly as you are — unfinished, tired, uncertain, or feeling stuck. The goal is rarely to solve everything at once. More often, what matters is creating a little more space to breathe, understand yourself, and begin to see new possibilities.
In my work, I draw particularly from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). It is important to me that our conversations do not remain solely at the level of insight and understanding, but also support small, practical steps toward the kind of life you want to live.
I have a particular interest in the psychology of well-being (Certificate of The Science of Well-Being), love and relationships, consensual non-monogamy, and the psychological consultation and integration work related to psychedelic-assisted therapies.
I believe that people almost always possess more flexibility, wisdom, and inner resources than they are able to see during difficult times. Sometimes all that is needed is another person to walk alongside them for a while as they find their way forward.
My particular areas of interest and expertise include relationships, love, intimacy, consensual non-monogamy, separation, and family relationships. I also work extensively with self-criticism, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, work-related stress, and recovery from overload.
In addition, I have experience in psychological preparation, consultation, and integration work related to psychedelic-assisted therapies.

Feedbacks
“I was pretty nervous about coming to therapy at first because I thought I’d have to explain my problems in some really smart way. Luckily, that wasn’t the case. The conversations felt natural and, surprisingly, there were even moments when we laughed, despite talking about some difficult stuff. I guess what stood out most was that I felt genuinely listened to. I never felt like I was being pushed toward some particular way of living or told how I should be.”
“I liked that the sessions weren’t just talking, but they weren’t all exercises either. Roope somehow managed to explain why we were doing certain things and how they connected to what was going on in my life. We also ended up having a few simple routines, like writing down the most important takeaway from the session and having a small thing to try before the next one. To be kind of honest, those little things helped the sessions stay with me between appointments.”
